Few recent favs!

Here’s a very small Haul of a few things I got recently…these are just a few of my new favorite things of all the things I’ve gotten since my last post.

I’ll start with the Laura Mercier, tinted moisturizer in Sand. I initially thought this color might be too light but it turned out to be absolutely perfect for my complexion. I’ve really been wanting to try the Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer out but didn’t want to commit to the $42 price tag just to see if I liked it but luckily Sephora had a smaller version for $20 and I’m soo happy I tried it because I LOVE it!

Next is the original Urban Decay Naked Palette, which came with a tester of their Eyeshadow Primer Potion.

I usually only wear neutral eyeshadow so it was only natural for me to want the Naked palette and since I was super late getting it I was torn between getting the original palette or the Naked 2 Palette. I obviously went with the original and I’m happy I did because it have become my go to for everyday.

My favorite shades are Half Baked, Smog and DarkHorse

Next is Organix Moroccan Argan Oil which I use almost everyday. It adds the perfect amount of shine to my natural tresses without weighing it down. I think this one may become a staple in my hair care reg…

Lately I’ve been going fragrance crazy and here are two fragrances I picked up from my job. I absolutely love these two fragrances and couldn’t wait to take them home!

First is a Voluspa Enfleurage, it smells very woodsy floral if that makes any sense. The vanilla bean and rosewood are prominent but the floral scents are the guts of the fragrance.

The other fragrance is Lucy B, Royal Egyptian Amber & Honeysuckle. It’s a very deep warm scent with a hint of floral.

This is just a couple of the things I’ve gotten since my last post! With XMas, My Birthday, and My Anniversary falling into that time period I have tons of things to feature.

POWER!

“Screams from the Haters, got a nice ring to it….I guess every super hero needs theme music!”- Power, Kanye West

So I have a confession I’m a Kanye STAN! Yes I said it! I’m an overzealous fan that truly believe he could do no wrong because even his bad ish completely shits on most people’s best ish!

So my opinion of his Dw line was summed up by Mister West himself in his stark statement to the press  “This is my first collection. Please be easy. Please give me a chance to grow”.

I think  the critic were a bit hard on Yeezy, his first collection was shown to the masses while most designers first collections were shown only in their first year of design school. Kanye’s an ambitious man and he surely has a track record of making his dreams come true and getting increasingly better at his craft over time. I believe his Fashion career will shadow his work as a Producer, an Artist, and a Director…

He’s AMAZING!

All I have to say is “You Mother F*kers is crazy if you don’t love Kanye” lol

The video just makes me happy! lol

Honey I’m giving you LIFE!!!

So I’ve decided to revive my blog, since I’ve been doing some pretty awesome things lately like volunteering, getting fit, cooking, brushing up my photography skills and few other random things I’d like to share.

Of course Fashion is still the love of my life but as of late I’m been more intrigued by lifestyle blogs, magazines and tv shows as well as business topics like the stock market and new business ventures. Some of the things I’ve really gotten into over the past six months has been cooking, the natural lifestyle (including natural hair, healthy eating, exercise and meditation), home improvements, interior design and gardening.

I hope you guys enjoy some of my new interest and ventures. Stay tune for updates!

The Burberry Position

I just recently finished up a case analysis on the repositioning of Burberry and I must admit I was extremely impressed by the bang up job Rose Marie Bravo and her team did with turning around Burberry. This dream team completely transformed Burberry from being an old stuffy staple garment brand into a fashion forward brand that should and could rip the runways with the best of the industry.

I decided to write about this because I find that so many people who claim they love fashion solely contribute the greatness of a fashion house/brand/company to the the designers; when in fact a successful brand has a fabulous partnership of creative and business minds. It was Bravo that simply had an idea of what Burberry should be and as soon as she took on the position of CEO she jumped completely in telling her husband, something along the lines of she was going into a black hole and she had no idea of when she would return. Her dedication to her position was simply amazing!

Bravo felt like Burberry had the potential to redefine it’s role in the luxury market, and be both classic and fashion forward; and with the tailoring of it’s core products for Burberry London, the roll out of Burberry Prorsum, and the major refining of licensing agreements Burberry was able to reach it’s full potential.

The team held no punches and rolled out an amazing advertising campaign featuring Kate Moss and Stella Tennant. The campaign was the first under Bravo’s reign and had the creative backing of Photographer: Mario Testino, Creative Director: Fabien Baron, and Advertising Agent: David Lipman. The ads presented a new fresh Burberry look by featuring the somewhat edgy Kate Moss  and the more conservative Stella Tennant, presenting a medium of the classic and fashion forward image Burberry wanted to present.

I remember feeling like Burberry’s image was completely different from the Burberry I grewup seeing and it’s a great feeling to know the who, what, when, where and why to what you watched transpire. And if it were not for the hard work that team put in during the late 1990’s early 2000’s would Burberry be the brand we all know and love.
